This stately plant, with its strong, wine-colored square stem, bears delicate mauve flowers within prickly. toothed calyces. Its name is thought to refer to the leaves being the shape of a lion's tail, and cardiaca implies that this herb will strengthen the heart. Used the leaves and flowers
1 teaspoon dried /2 teaspoons fresh to a cup of boiling water 3 times a day, or 2 teaspoon syrup.
